This week in the Discovery Pathway.....

This week in Cherry class.....
Despite the weather trying its hardest to stop us being at school, Cherry class have begun their new topic and have made a good start!
We are exploring holidays: how they are celebrated around the world and travelling and exploring; we have begun with India, looking at landmarks and seasons. Core skills that we’ve begun to explore are sequencing days, times and events so that we can plan what we can do when on holiday, and what we need to write a postcard. In their outdoor learning, they have started the new year making fat balls for the birds that visit our outdoor area.
This week in Maple class.....
During our time in the playground, we used two bubble wands as part of a turn-taking activity. As the resources were limited purposefully, maple class practised sharing by taking turns and ensuring that everyone had an opportunity to participate. They waited patiently for their peers to finish before having their turn and supported one another by recognising whose turn was next. Throughout the activity, maple class demonstrated beautiful manners by saying “thank you” and showing respect for others.

This week in Cedar class.....
On Friday, Cedar class did an activity using bubbles to help us learn about our feelings. We popped bubbles and blew bubbles. We learnt that when we are anxious, it can feel like we have lots of bubbles inside of us. We can use calming breaths and even blow bubbles as a way of help us to feel calm. The children spent a long time exploring these activities.
