A message from the Friends

The Friends of Doubletrees are a registered charity who work to raise funds for Doubletrees School and Tresor (formally known as Doubletrees Hostel). Our members include ex-parents, current parents/grandparents and staff of both the school and Tresor.
We aim to raise funds through organised fundraising activities, applying for grants and other sources of funding, and increasing the awareness of the school within the local community. The money raised is used solely to benefit the children of the school and Tresor, in terms of new equipment, accessing activities and supporting the development of new facilities.
Some of our fundraising efforts have paid for Ipads, waterfall playsets, sensory toys, cycle helmets, pupil Christmas presents & Easter Eggs, supplies to make the lanterns for the St Austell Torchlight Procession, new photograph displays, Dance club instructor, Polytunnel refurbishment and summer activities at Tresor to name just a few!

We have also been successful in applying for a number of grants which allow large items to be purchased like the Acheeva bed, Igaze system, sensory room equipment and Cornubia Sailing trips. We are also lucky to receive a number of donations from individuals and groups who raise money on our behalf.

The type of events we hold are quiz nights, table top sales, bingo, Zumba, bag packing, beer, wine & cider tasting with plenty of raffles!
We are constantly looking for new members to join and support this group. We have 5 meetings a year which normally last for no more than an hour and are held at 6pm on Thursdays in the school staff room.
If you are interested in finding out more or want to join, please contact the school or our secretary Julie Penprase on
