World Book Day 2018

Snow caused us to postpone our World Book Day until Thursday 8th March. Fortunately all our book stars could still make it. Dr.Who, Snow White, Harry Potter, Shrek, Donkey, a couple of Where's Wallys and Grandpa to name but a few. Have a look at the photos to see more. Our thanks to Charlie Wilton who took all the photos. Charlie is a Post 16 learner and a keen photographer.
We welcomed some parents in to read with their children. Refreshments were provided by Friends of Doubletrees. A Squash and a Squeeze was a hit in the playground. A number of our learners have taken part in a sponsored book read. The money collected with be donated to a charity called Read for Good. They raise money for books and storytellers in children's hospitals. In total we have raised £76.20. Well done everyone.
Well done to our readers who took part in the sponsorship scheme 'Read for Good'.
Cavan read 'What's the time little wolf?'. Connor enjoyed 'But excuse me that is my book' by Lauren Child and Alicia's book was 'My cat just sleeps' by Joanne Partis.
Between them they have raised a whooping £32 for the charity Read for Good. The money will be used to raise money for books and storytellers in children's hospitals.
