This week in Post 14.....
Elm Class
Elm class invited some visitors to our access pathway assembly. The Kesson Tuc singers came to perform 'Cornwall my home' for us, so we spent the week practising the Makaton signs so that we could join in. Elm stood proudly at the front signing alongside the Male Voice choir. This meant we had the opportunity to thank them properly for the large keyboard they gifted us last year. We have been using it for piano lessons in the library, so one of our students, Jeremy gave them a piano performance before they left.
Cherry Class
Cherry Class had fun trying to experience what it was like to not be able to hear during Deaf Awareness Week. They particularly enjoyed miming different activities and jobs and getting their friends to guess what they were doing! We wrote lots of lists in English and worked on making groups in Maths. We are also using our fine motor skills to prepare different salads. This week we peeled, chopped, grated and measured to create delicious salads.
