Harvest Festival & Foodbank Collection

Maple class enjoyed a visit from David, a vicar from our local Church this week, to talk to us about the meaning of Harvest. Many Christian communities celebrate the festival, and some focus on the care of the Earth, growing, nature and nurture.
Harvest Festival celebrates the time of year when crops have been gathered from the field and people can reflect and show gratitude for the food they have.
Celebrating harvest dates long into British history, to a time when farmers would give thanks for a good harvest, good weather, and the sharing of food.
We have a collection at school if you wish to donate. We will be donating all the tinned and dried food stuffs to our local Foodbank this year. If you would like to donate, please send in any of the listed items below before the 24th October.
Thank you.
