This week in Post 14.....
This week in cherry class.....
Cherry class started the week with our visit from the Cornwall Hospitality Collective, learning how to make coffee, hot chocolate and scones – they will be back in December to help us learn serving skills. Two of our learners continued their school-based work experience, helping reception this time. We have been checking our knowledge of money so that we can serve everyone at the Christmas Fayre with confidence too! In R.E. we learned about Hinduism and their celebrations of life. Learners ended the week planting onions with Lisa and continuing with their Friday Brunch Club: making hot chocolates for paying customers, delivering them with a squirty cream and marshmallow flourish, and then completing the task by washing up and tidying away. Friday was completed by celebrating our Star Learner for her great sense of humour and confidence in class.
This week in Elm class.....
Our core word of the week in Elm class was 'me' as we continue to study our core word curriculum. We listened to it in songs, used it in context and learnt to sign and use symbols for it. We found a dirty mirror and practised our independent skills of cleaning the mirror so we could see ourselves and say "Look at Me!"
