This week in the Discovery Pathway.....

This week in Cedar class.....

In music this week, we have been learning to explore different sounds we can make using different instruments. This week we used the drum. We took turns to play and are really building our musical skills.

This week in Maple class.....

Maple and Rowan classes came together to enjoy a lovely sensory story, listening to Leo’s Rainforest story. Everyone sat superbly and was fully engaged in the sensory activities – feeling the rain falling down, touching and tasting monkey nuts, and listening to the jungle drums. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together and share a story as part of Storytelling Week.

This week in Cherry class.....

Cherry class have had a busy few weeks! We’ve made vegetable samosas whilst learning about India and the Sikh Spring festival of Vasant Panchami.

In Maths we have been focusing on our sorting and grouping skills, completing this both inside and outside of the classroom, organising objects outside and categorising images inside. When we haven’t had to hide from the very heavy rain, we’ve been outside sharing and turn taking with our friends.

Cherry class have also enjoyed the visiting theatre group’s pantomime production of Snow White, and even got to meet the main character! We’ve been learning about how our emotions feel and used feathers to think about and describe sensations. This week was finished making clay pinch pots in preparation for our own Spring Fayre and practising our ICT skills.
