This week in the Discovery Pathway...

This week in Maple class...
It was fantastic to see Maple Class return to Bikeability and show just how much their confidence and cycling skills have grown!
The children had a brilliant time trying out lots of different bikes, putting their skills into practice and challenging themselves along the way. It was wonderful to see them becoming more confident, independent and enthusiastic as they explored the different bikes and activities. 🚴♀️🚴♂️
To finish off a fantastic trip, the class enjoyed a visit to the café, where they chose their own treats and proudly paid for them independently. ☕🍰 It was a lovely opportunity to practise those important real-life skills too!
A brilliant day full of confidence, independence, new skills and lots of smiles.

Some of our Maple Class children had an amazing time at TR7 Skate Park last week!
We began by getting ready for our session, making sure everyone had their wrist guards, knee pads, elbow pads and helmets on safely. After a quick warm-up and stretch, we were ready to get started!
First, we explored our balance and practised moving the skateboards beneath our feet using boards without wheels. This helped everyone develop their confidence and get a feel for how the boards move.
Next, it was time to put our skills into practice with the wheeled skateboards! With lots of encouragement and support from the instructors, the children took turns skating across the park. It was wonderful to see some of our more adventurous skaters gaining enough confidence to let go of their instructors and skate independently!
As the session went on, we saw huge smiles, growing confidence and fantastic progress from everyone involved. The children showed great courage, perseverance and enthusiasm while learning a brand-new skill.
Well done, Maple Class for giving it a go and challenging
This week in Cherry class...
Cherry class have had a busy first term back at school. From workshops with Cornwall Hospitality Collective to café visits, author visits to harvest festival and National Fitness Day, and not forgetting all of our learning, where, this term, we have focused on our theme ‘Eating Out’. Our young people have explored reading menus, prices, practiced ordering our food as well as making and delivering our regular Friday Brunch Club offerings, which have been warmly received by all our paying customers at school. We will continue this theme after half-term and begin our visits to Truro and St Austell College – plenty of exciting learning opportunities to look forward to!
