The Willow class

The Willow class is one of our Key stage 3 classes. The learners here follow our Expolration Pathway. It is part of our upper school.

This week in the Willow class......

In Willow class, we have been exploring light and dark in Science. We explored a range of different light sources and how it can help us with seeing in the darkness.  The learners enjoyed going in and out the blackout tent with the different lights to see which one was the most effective.

 

 

In Willow class we have been looking at different charities in Cornwall that help people, linking to our work-related learning topic. Last half-term, we enjoyed a visit from the Foodbank. They showed us some different food donations that they give out to people who visit the foodbank, who are in need of nutritional support. They also give out pet food and hygiene products to those in need. We learnt that last year they gave out over 2000 food parcels in our community. All the learners in Willow class listened very well, and even asked some fantastic questions to find out more.
