There’s so much to explore and enjoy for families during Easter in Cornwall, with a perfect mix of outdoor activities, cultural experiences, and delicious treats. Here are some great things to do with children in Cornwall this Easter.
Easter Egg Hunts & Trails
Celebrate the joys of spring at the Eden Project this Easter and get ready for a giant egg hunt and all-age fun, as you discover how caring for nature also takes care of you. Pre-booking is strongly encouraged and all activities included in Eden's admission prices.
The team has hidden nests full of eggs, both large and small, throughout the gardens... but the big question is how many? Collect all the stamps along Eden's nature trail to claim a sweet treat and enter a competition to be in with a chance of winning an extra special Easter hamper.

Each year the National Trust puts on some fabulous Easter egg hunts across some of its fan-favourite sites. Including Trelissick, Lanhydrock, Antony, Cotehole, Glendurgan and many more there's one accessible to you no matter where you live in Cornwall.
Fees apply and booking in advance might be required so do check out the National Trust website. For something a little different, Paradise Park in Hayle offers a fun wildlife-themed Easter hunt alongside its exotic birds and animals.

Bodmin & Wenford Railway Easter Bunny Express – Take a magical ride on a steam train, and meet the Easter Bunny along the way! There are fun activities for the little ones, plus the chance to collect chocolate prizes at various stops.

An interactive, family-friendly experience designed for all ages is coming to Bodmin Jail this Easter. The Good Egg/Bad Egg Trail is an Easter egg hunt with a twist. You can solve clues, decode riddles, and uncover hidden eggs throughout the historic site.
As you solve the challenges you'll also uncover fascinating facts about the jail's history and the people who once roamed its corridors. Taking place throughout the holidays, there's a prize for the winner. Tickets are available online at Bodmin Jail's website or on the gate.

At Trengwainton, a subtropical garden near Penzance, children will find ten nature-inspired activities, including, seed planting, traditional games such as tic tac toe and egg and spoon racing, as well as plant bingo! Families visiting the Lost Gardens of Heligan will enjoy hunting for Lowenna the lost lamb on a trail around the grounds of this 200-acre site near Fowey, with crafts and activities in the tipi tent afterwards.

Theatre Royal Plymouth – The Theatre Royal often has family-friendly performances during the Easter break, including pantomimes, musical shows, and plays aimed at younger audiences.

The Minack Theatre – Set on the cliffs overlooking the sea, the Minack Theatre offers some spectacular performances that are perfect for a family outing. Check out their Easter program for kid-friendly plays, especially those set outdoors.

The Hall for Cornwall – From puppet shows to storytelling performances, this iconic venue in Truro is a great place to catch family-friendly theatre during Easter.

Rogue Theatre – Easter Show - A closed CAAP performance of the beautiful Rogue Easter production which is open to CAAP members.
Family Fun
- This Easter, the Eden Project will be putting on all sorts of themed events, such as a chocolate trail around the rainforest biome, a pop-up market showcasing local producers and Easter arts and crafts in the tipi. Don’t forget to visit the new nature-inspired playground, which opened last summer.
- In Falmouth, children can learn everything there is to know about being a pirate of the high seas at the National Maritime Museum, with workshops on pirate skills, weaponry and food. Also in Falmouth, children can go on a quest for a dragon’s egg in a interactive show at arts venue The Poly, whilst Paradise Park near Hayle will be putting on a birds of prey flying display and an ‘Easter Golden Egg Challenge‘ throughout the holidays.

Tate St Ives – Tate St Ives often holds interactive exhibitions and art workshops perfect for young creatives. Kids can enjoy learning about famous artists while also trying out some art projects themselves.

Penlee House Gallery and Museum – Located in Penzance, this museum often features family-friendly exhibitions and sometimes hosts creative workshops where children can explore their artistic talents.

Foodie Events

Bude has not one but two food festivals each year, with the spring event being held on Easter Monday in the grounds of Bude Castle. Expect plenty of food stalls, demos and Easter treats.

On the Roseland, Philleigh Cookery School will be hosting a family pizza making day where you get to perfect your dough making skills, and Nancarrow Farm will be putting on their annual Easter feast weekend on their organic farm near Truro.

In West Cornwall, go seaweed foraging with The Fat Hen, where you’ll learn all about Cornwall’s wild edibles, followed by a feast of seaweed based dishes and recipes for you to try at home.
Join a beach clean!
Beach Guardian organise beach cleans throughout the year, and there’s an Easter clean on Constantine near Padstow on Sunday 7th April. The National Trust organises several beach cleans in Cornwall; this Easter, they’re taking place at Pendower and Porthcurnick on 1st April, and at Hemmick Beach on the 6th April (all Roseland Peninsula).
