This week in the Discovery Pathway...

This week in Cedar class.....

This week, Cedar class has been learning about money through our role play shop. We can learn so much through play and have lots of fun too.

Some of us have been exploring mark making as we learn to write numbers 1-5.

We enjoyed a concert with Chris Avery, an interactive guitarist. Our children love music, so this was an extra special treat for us.

In PSHE we have been learning about people who are special to us in school and how they help us. The children were able to recognise and name, people who help us in school.

This week in Cherry class.....

Cherry class’s first week of the summer term has involved lots of being outside! We have explored our sensory garden, sharing space with our friends and seeing what has grown, and what needs clearing. Our sunflowers were repotted and then we cleared our outdoor space, ready for fresh planting. We finished our week with the return of Friday Brunch Club, making pasta pots, and celebrated our Star Learner for how brilliantly he has supported his friends with their learning and how impressive his ball skills were in PE.

This week in Maple class.....

Earth Day🌍

Today we learned about Earth Day, exploring what it represents and why it is important for protecting our planet. We discussed how human actions can impact the environment and why it is important to take responsibility for caring for the Earth.

Maple class came up with ideas about how we can make a positive difference both at home and at school. This included practical actions such as recycling correctly, reducing waste, reusing materials, saving water, and turning off lights and devices when they are not in use. We also talked about more environmentally friendly choices, such as walking or cycling instead of travelling by car where possible.

To reinforce our learning, we created handprint displays where the learners wrote actions they already do, or will try to do, to help care for the Earth. This activity encouraged everyone to reflect on their own choices and make personal commitments to protecting the environment.
