This week in the Engagement Pathway...

This week in Redwood class.....

Redwood class have been enjoying spending time out in the local community as part of our “Our Local Area” learning. We have been going on short walks close to school, giving learners the opportunity to explore the world around them in a meaningful and sensory way.

During our walks, we have taken time to pause and really notice what is around us. Learners have been listening carefully to different sounds, exploring new smells, and observing nature including birds, butterflies and a variety of flowers. These moments of stillness have supported curiosity, attention and engagement with the environment.

This week in Apple class.....

Apple Class love visiting the library for story time. It's a great, fun opportunity to practice communication and pupil voice through choice making, initiating more and using symbols to make comments and share emotions. And, of course, a fantastic opportunity for building relationships through shared, preferred activities.

This week in Rowan class.....

Rowan class have thoroughly enjoyed getting stuck into their new Summer term topic of Circus! We have been getting outdoors where we can thanks to the sunshine sticking around, and hope to do more of this across the summer term!
