This week in the Redwood class......
In June the Engagement pathway started their visits Mylor Sailing School for sailability. Two learners from Redwood class were first to experience the Wheelyboat – a specially adapted, wheelchair-accessible powerboat.
We cruised through the harbour and around to Falmouth Docks, where we were amazed by the impressive superyachts and even saw one raise its enormous sails. Everyone enjoyed the refreshing sea breeze on their faces and the thrill of watching the white water trail behind us as we picked up speed. A big thank you to Mylor Sailing School for providing such an exciting and inclusive experience!
This week, Redwood Class had a fantastic time during a sensory cooking session. We explored the ingredients used to make bread, engaging our senses as they touched, smelled, and observed each item. We used their hand skills to mix and knead the dough, developing fine motor control in the process. We were also encouraged to express our preferences, choosing between a wet or dry mix. We loved the smell of the baked bread and some of us experienced the taste - yummy
