This week in Holly class.....

In Holly we are continuing to explore our topic of food and farming through sensory activities. This week the learners have explored different foods including a watermelon. They use their different senses to explore the fruit and were curious about the taste and texture. 

This week in Elm class.....

In Elm we are working on our ASDAN module 'Going Places' and so we have been practising packing bags for trips out. The learner's had homework instructions to pack their own bags for the beach and we have been learning the symbols for positional instructions in the classroom. We are working on the key words 'in, out, on and off.'                                                          We are really good at following a 'kit list' of symbols now.

 

 

This week in Willow class.....

In Willow class we have been exploring number through looking at fractions. We have been exploring halves and quarters. We have looked at this through cutting different food items and sensory items. The learners have also enjoyed exploring different halves, selecting the same objects and making one whole. 

 

This week in the Orchard.....

Little Orchard class have been practicing making sandwiches during DT/cookery lessons. We start by washing our hands by following a schedule and getting the plates ready. The learners used core boards to pick their own toppings and were then supported in spreading this on the bread. There were some very interesting combinations of flavours for the sandwiches!
