This week in Post 14.....
This week in Elm class.....
Our Spring theme in Elm is Holidays. We have been exploring countries with different climates so that we can practice packing our suitcases with the right equipment. We loved exploring Indian food in our sensory cooking session this week. Learners prepared, smelt, touched and tasted food that Hindus might eat at a Vasant Panchami festival, all the food had to be yellow as we celebrated the transition from Winter to Spring. An overwhelming favourite was the poppadom, everybody liked those.

This week in Cherry class.....
Despite the weather trying its hardest to stop us being at school, Cherry class have begun their new topic and have made a good start!
We are exploring holidays: how they are celebrated around the world and travelling and exploring; we have begun with India, looking at landmarks and seasons. Core skills that we’ve begun to explore are sequencing days, times and events so that we can plan what we can do when on holiday, and what we need to write a postcard. In their outdoor learning, they have started the new year making fat balls for the birds that visit our outdoor area.
