During the global Covid pandemic, like most schools, we have had to reduce onsite learning provision, prioritising critical worker families and those in need of crisis care during national lockdowns. We have had to temporarily close class bubbles, to minimise the further spread of the virus and provide alternative arrangements for learners who are extremely clinically vulnerable.
The education and well-being of our learners continues to remain an absolute priority for us. Therefore, we have developed our Remote Learning offer, to allow us to work closely with our families to continue learning and progress for all our young people, wherever their education is taking place.
To support this, we have developed a Remote Learning offer. This allows us to offer a blended learning model, which consists of a mixture of onsite, and home based learning, when our provision has been reduced or when a learner is not able to access on site provision. This takes into account the feedback from our families on what works well and is supportive to the circumstances of our families. It has allowed us to collaboratively develop Remote Learning that is accessible to our learners at home, remains highly personalised and is manageable for our families, whilst continuing to facilitate the progress of our learners towards the EHCP and curriculum outcomes.
This inevitably involves the use of technology, where appropriate, to facilitate both learning and contact with our families and learners to support. Therefore, online safety and privacy is a strong focus as part of this provision.
